苏妮塔（吉滕德拉 Jeetendra）是印度孟买一家大工厂主莫汉达斯的独生女儿，莫汉达斯死后，她听从他的遗愿与其心术不正的养子拉詹结婚，并答应拉詹会与他在坎达拉的一所小别墅欢度新婚之夜。
驱车到达别墅时，苏妮塔遇到夜总会舞女莫妮卡，得知拉詹正是杀害父亲的凶手。凭借机智逃离别墅后，苏尼塔结识一个来自吉普赛的大篷车队，她生命中最重要的人莫汉（阿莎?帕雷克 Asha Parekh）第一次走进她的视线，然而两人的爱情之路，并非一帆风顺，如阴魂般的拉詹，是其中最大障碍。
